EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY FOR EXCEPTIONAL WINES
At Quinta de Adorigo, our priority is excellence and quality. We believe that the production of exceptional wines is the result of grapes grown sustainably, with passion and respect for the terroir. The old vines, planted in 1955 with 38 Douro grape varieties, are the basis for producing wines that express the unique essence of the Douro. In 2002, we expanded our vineyard area, allowing for even stricter quality control.
In the winery, winemaking takes place using the various options available, from traditional wood to cement, including terracotta, granite and stainless steel. We have opted for a limited use of sulphites, reinforcing our strong commitment to producing organic and sulphite-free wines. To guarantee the superior quality of our wines, we not only have a laboratory that allows us to monitor the evolution of the batches, but also a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) that guarantees the quality of the water used and a Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) that treats and reuses the water in the winery.

A BALANCE BETWEEN INNOVATION AND TRADITION
Sustainability is a a central pillar of our identity. We use geothermal energy to air-condition the winery, maintaining ideal temperature and humidity conditions with low energy consumption, significantly minimising our environmental impact. In 2022, we were honoured with the Sustainability in the Built Environment Award for our choice of building materials with low carbon emissions. At Quinta de Adorigo, tradition and innovation come together to guarantee the exceptional quality of organic, sulphite-free wines, vinified in granite lagers with minimal intervention in the winery.
