Our commitment to sustainability manifests itself in a number of areas, from eco-friendly building materials, which earned us the prestigious Sustainability in the Built Environment Award 2022, rainwater harvesting, gravity-focused winery design and even integrating biology and sustainable practices into our vineyard management to reduce our carbon footprint.
GEOTHERMAL ENERGY: A RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE
Quinta do Adorigo is a pioneer in using geothermal energy to air-condition the winery, a renewable energy source that allows us to maintain the ideal temperature and humidity with extremely low energy consumption. We believe that sustainability and the production of exceptional wines go hand in hand. Through our commitment to the environment, we guarantee the preservation of the Douro’s terroir for future generations and create unique wines that express its authenticity and richness.
